Ultimately, in August 1907, the two great powers decided to carve Iran up into spheres of influence; the agreement sealed Russian supremacy in the north and British supremacy in the south of Iran. WebAfter several hundred years of conflict with western powers, Iran was finally occupied in WWII by a joint invasion of the Soviet Union and Great Britain. I do find it somewhat telling that the only time an occupation like this happened was with the agreement of both British and Russian forces.
